Adam Castaneda is a dancer, writer, editor, and educator. He studied dance at Houston Community College where he performed with the school's African Dance and Drum Ensemble for three-and-a-half years. He received his MA in American and British literature from the University of Houston. Now, he enjoys teaching freshman-level English at Houston Community College - Northeast, freelancing for Houston Press, Houstonia Magazine, Texas Arts + Culture, and Dance Source Houston, and performing with FrenetiCore Dance. He also performs at Lipan Urban African Performing Arts Collective under the artistic direction of Gabriel and Julie Bata.

Tomorrow, August 5, 2017, The Pilot Dance Project will present six performances of REQUIEM, a forty-five minute modern, site-specific dance work from Jennifer Mabus. Using the landmark Morales Funeral Home, Houston's first Hispanic-owned funeral home, Mabus will immerse audiences in the communal rituals of grief and mourning.
