The international stage hit Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage will make its Pre-Broadway East Coast premiere at the Boston Opera House for a limited engagement February 7 through March 15, 2009. Factory Theatre to Present World Premiere of Coleman's 'Scratch'

Factory Theatre will present the world premiere of the Charlotte Corbeil-Coleman's deeply moving and funny play Scratch first written when she was only 16. Scratch is a semi-autobiographical story of Charlotte's experience, told through the touching and quirky perspective of 15 year old Anna, of losing her mother, novelist and journalist Carole Corbeil to ovarian cancer. Charlotte states, 'I had an urgent need to tell a story that came from a place of pure grief. So much of who I am came from losing her. My writing and talent is so linked to that loss'.

Lyric Theatre, Oklahoma's premiere professional theatre company, concludes the 2007-2008 'Lyric at the Plaza' season with the big, bad, rock-n-roll musical, The Rocky Horror Show. From October 9th through November 1st, Lyric will present the live version of the spectacular cult classic film about the madcap adventures of Brad Majors and his fiancé Janet Weiss, who approach the spooky Frankenstein place to find help for a flat tire.

The Canadian Stage Company opens its 2008/09 Bluma Appel Theatre season with Frost/Nixon, the 2007 Tony Award®-nominated play by Peter Morgan, award-winning author of The Last King of Scotland and The Queen. Tony Award®-winning stage and screen veteran Len Cariou (star of the original Broadway production of Sweeney Todd) plays the role of President Richard Nixon and is joined by David Storch (Canadian Stage's Lonesome West) as TV talk-show host David Frost. Three-time Dora Award-winner Ted Dykstra (Canadian Stage's Fire) directs. A co-production with Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company, Frost/Nixon had its Canadian premiere September 18, 2008 in Vancouver. The production transfers to the Bluma Appel Theatre in Toronto October 13 to November 8, 2008.

Sure, Doubt on Broadway won the Tony Award for Best Play, Cherry Jones received the Tony for Best Actress in a Play, won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, but I found the play lacking and unenjoyable.

It was 2001 and we were both entering graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin, all the new MFA students were attending this outdoor BBQ and here's this playwright with red cowboy boots on as though she may have been Lori Singer's stand-in during the filming of Footloose.
