Eugene Lovendusky graduated summa cum laude from SFSU with a BA in Writing for Electronic Media and a minor in Drama. Raised in the SF Bay Area, his love for the arts bloomed at an early-age; a passion that has flourished in NYC, where Eugene now lives and works. American Conservatory Theater announced the casting today for David Mamet's brisk, cutting comedy on the movie business, Speed-the-Plow, directed by Loretta Greco. The cast features 2007 Drama Desk Award-nominee Andrew Polk, Matthew Del Negro ('The Sopranos'), and Jessi Campbell (A.C.T.'s Blackbird). Speed-the-Plow plays A.C.T. January 4 through February 3. Press night is Wednesday, January 9.

This January, Obie Award-winner Danny Hoch is Taking Over Berkeley Repertory Theatre's Thrust Stage with his first new solo show in ten years. Berkeley Rep's artistic director, Tony Taccone helms the solo project. Taking Over begins previews on January 11, opens January 16, and closes February 10, 2008.

For its holiday feature, the San Jose Rep will present This Wonderful Life, a visually stunning stage adaptation of the 1946 Frank Capra classic film It's a Wonderful Life. In this theatrical twist, San Jose Rep's associate director Kirsten Brandt directs actor Dan Hiatt, who plays all 35 characters in a one-man tour de force.
