On June 9, Deborah Voigt, America's top dramatic soprano, marked another milestone in her career when she returned to San Francisco Opera and made her title role debut as the pistol-packing, poker-playing barmaid in Puccini's Gold Rush extravaganza, La fanciulla del West (The Girl of the Golden West). Running through July 2, the new San Francisco production is the first North American staging to celebrate the opera's centenary.

The Garden Theatre announces the 2010 Summer Camps, running the week of August 2-6, at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street). Both camps include hands-on learning experiences with a performance opportunity at the end of the week for family and friends.

New works and old favorites performed by Broadway stars and Northwestern music theatre students are part of the 2010 Summer Music Theatre Festival (June 25 to Aug. 7) presented by the Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University.

The producers of BURN THE FLOOR have announced that Robbie Kmetoni, Ashleigh Di Lello & Ryan Di Lello, Karen Hauer, and Janette Manrara will appear as featured dancers during the 2010-11 US tour of the Broadway smash hit. After weeks of playing to packed houses, Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's Love, Loss, and What I Wore is extending its Los Angeles run in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse through at least August 1.

More than 25 years after defying long odds, harsh wintry conditions, scant supplies of food and little money to invest, members of the Cooperative Artists, the group that established professional theater at a then-closed 1920s Art Deco movie house in the old Borscht Belt region of the Lower Catskill Mountains are returning for a July 4th weekend reunion celebration at Shadowland Theatre, the Actors' Equity theater in downtown Ellenville, NY, 90 miles northwest of Broadway.

Noël Coward is alive and well at Cygnet Theatre! With the current run of Coward's PRIVATE LIVES receiving raves on the mainstage, Associate Artistic Director Francis Gercke has assembled a stellar cast of San Diego favorites to deliver a staged reading of his most famous drama, THE VORTEX. The one-night only reading will be performed Monday, June 21st, 2010 at 7:00pm in Cygnet's Old Town Theatre. The PlayhouseSquare District will present four free outdoor after-work concerts on Star Plaza beginning with the first one on Thursday, June 24. Defending the Caveman Broadway's wildly popular history making comedy, Defending The Caveman, comes to Omaha to get couples laughing and make peace between the sexes. The longest running solo play in Broadway history comes to the Omaha Community Playhouse for four weeks, July 7 to August 1, 2010.

Auditions for Open Stage of Harrisburg's Music Theatre Workshop for students ages 12-17 have been extended until Friday, July 9. The program runs from July 19 - August 5 at the theatre in downtown Harrisburg. The program has been designated a 'Regional Summer School of Excellence' for seventh year in a row. This competitive grant, awarded annually to only 15 education entities in the state, is based on a rigorous evaluation of proposals for gifted and talented summer programming tied to state and national teaching and learning standards. Open Stage's program is unusual in the area in that it gives professional instruction in acting, singing, and dancing as well as performance. All students are given individual attention in small classes.
