The Fifth Genre: Considering the Contemporary Still Life highlights the enduring relevance and resonance of the still life, the often undervalued genre of academic painting. Artists today are using still life to investigate contemporary issues such as consumerism and sustainability, while continuing in the genre's traditional themes of perception, reality, and mortality. In the exhibition, the artists convey the persisting power of the still life to portray the changing using the unchanging, the intangible using the tangible. The Fifth Genre opens to the public on Friday, June 25, from 5 to 7 pm.

The Court Theatre Board of Trustees today announces that Stephen J. Albert has been appointed Court Theatre's Executive Director. Albert is a nationally known producer, manager and consultant who has led some of America's most prestigious theatres. He has been serving as a management consultant to Court since January and will begin full time with the company in August 2010.

Lawrence O'Donnell will host a new weeknight primetime hour on MSNBC. O'Donnell will begin work full-time with the network immediately to begin planning for a new 10 p.m. ET show. The announcement was made by Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC.

It's a family affair for 'Mulligan' starring Jennie Garth ('90210'), a Hallmark Channel Original Movie penned by her husband, Peter Facinelli ('Twilight,' 'Nurse Jackie'), who has also just joined the cast along with Fred Willard ('Modern Family') and Marilu Henner ('Taxi'). Garth and Facinelli's daughters will also be taking part in small roles.

NBC News and MSNBC have been honored with five national 2010 Edward R. Murrow awards, more than any other network. The national and local winners were announced today by The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) and will be presented at the RTDNA awards dinner New York on October 11, 2010.
