Drawing upon the crumbling of the American dream and the tragedies of ancient Greece, Buried Child is replete with sardonic humor and darkly disturbed characters.

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and Broadway Across America announced that SHREK THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, will play the Adrienne Arsht Center, for one week only, December 6-11, 2011 as part of the Broadway in Miami 2011-2012 season presented by Bank of America.

Focusing on their obsessive relationship and utilizing Leopold's 1958 parole hearing as a framework, THRILL ME explores the series of events in 1924 Chicago that led about-to-be law students Leopold and Loeb to be forever remembered as 'the thrill killers.'

For Mad Cat Theatre Company's 12th season (that's right 12th), Miami's very own original gangbusters fighting for your right to see new work with a healthy dose of why not attitude theatre company, will be back at The Light Box at the Goldman Warehouse located at 404 NW 26TH Street with an inventive new play Macbeth and the Monster by Angela Berliner which has previously only been seen at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles.

It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is an inventive retelling of the timeless story, and a perfect blend of Christmas cheer and theatrical magic. Audiences will be immersed in the nostalgic charm of the 1940's from the minute they enter the theatre - with ushers in red uniforms, live Foley sound effects and real vintage commercials. The Arcade Theatre will be transformed into a New York City radio studio, and the magic will begin a half hour before curtain time when the theatre will come to life with a pre-show glimpse into the world of the mid-1940's.

The show, which is approximately two hours in length with one intermission, features songs from such Sondheim gems as Gypsy, Company, Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, West Side Story, Anyone Can Whistle, and many more.

Two-time Golden Globe winner, Academy Award & Tony Award nominee Kathleen Turner will make her Fort Lauderdale stage debut in the National Tour of Matthew Lombardo's play HIGH, February 29-March 4, 2012 at The Parker Playhouse. Directed by Rob Ruggiero, HIGH also features Evan Jonigkeit as 'Cody Randall' and Timothy Altmeyer as 'Father Michael Delpapp'.

The Waterfront Playhouse will kick off their 72nd Season with 'It Takes Two - An Evening of Duets'- a two night concert that will star over 25 of Key West's best performers. Gulfshore Playhouse will perform an exclusive reading of 'Significant Others' by Jason Odell Williams November 14 at Café Lurcat. This is a new twist on the 'reading' idea. Café Lurcat will be serving a specially-designed three-course meal with 5:00, 5:30 or 6:00pm seating times. The reading will start at 7:30 p.m. while patrons relax with their dessert or a glass of wine.

Musical powerhouse Avery Sommers, who just wowed the crowds as Motormouth Maybelle in the Actors' Playhouse production of Hairspray (for which she just received a BWW Florida Award Nomination), is returning to The Colony Hotel for her fifth engagement since making her Royal Room debut in August 2008. She starred on Broadway in the long running, critically acclaimed musicals Ain't Misbehavin' (where she replaced Nell Carter) and Showboat, and in two national tours: Chicago with Joel Grey and Chita Rivera and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas with Ann-Margret. A frequent co-star of Burt Reynolds (B.L. Stryker, The Man from Left Field), she also starred in Menopause, the Musical and as Bloody Mary in South Pacific. In addition, she produced and co-starred in the film Hiding Victoria with Anita Gillette. At the Monaco International Film Festival last December, Sommers received the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Angel Film Awards.
