Third Production of Entr'Acte Theatrix Will Highlight Anti-Bullying Subtext of Family-Friendly Musical

"Happiness" is more than just another hit song from the Broadway musical YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, it is the guaranteed emotion the audience will feel after seeing this delightful, family-oriented show, promises theatrical producer Vicki Halmos. Her new Production Company, the hot and hip Entr'Acte Theatrix, will be presenting the Tony Award-winning musical, March 18-27, at the Black Box Theater in Boca Raton's new Cultural Arts Center in Mizner Park.

Based on the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN has been a favorite of children and adults ever since it first opened Off-Broadway in March 1967. One of the most produced musicals in history, the show netted Tony Awards during its 1999 revival.

Just like the two previous Entr'acte Theatrix productions of HAIR and CABARET, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN will be directed and choreographed by Kimberly Dawn (KD) Smith, a protégé of the late Broadway wunderkind Michael Bennett.

This production will feature an expanded 10-person cast, including Evan Ferrar (Charlie Brown), Mia Estadella (Lucy), Courtney Poston (Sally), Frank Vomero (Linus), Patrick LoRicco (Schroeder) and Greg Halmos (Snoopy).

Also in the cast are Matthew Tarantino (Pig Pen), Sarah Shadle (Woodstock), Sarah Dreben (Marcie) and Emily Miraglia (Peppermint Patty).

"The musical - just like the award-winning comic strip - is delightfully warm-hearted and funny, but also carries an undercurrent of spiritual depth and adolescent insight," says producer Halmos. "The Entr'Acte Theatrix production of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN will have a definite anti-bullying subtext based on the personal issues of each character, such as Charlie Brown's low self-esteem, Lucy's bossy behavior and Pig Pen's lack of good hygiene."

Halmos added that she was "particularly excited because this would be the first show that Entr'Acte Theatrix is producing at the Black Box Theatre in the Mizner Park Cultural Arts Center. Just like our ongoing relationship with the Caldwell Theatre, we hope this will be the first of many mutually positive collaborations between our three cultural nonprofit organizations."

Tickets for YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN are $25 for adults, $10 for students and children under the age of 13. Group rates are $20 each with a 15-ticket minimum.

Entr'Acte Theatrix is a brand new offshoot of the Palm Beach Principal Players, which started 10 years ago and targeted high school and college students interested in musical theater but who had limited opportunities to perform. Over the last decade, Principal Players has presented 16 different shows featuring more than 200 young people, many of whom have gone on to professional careers or top educational programs. Because these young but "seasoned" performers still need opportunities to work with top professionals and begin their professional careers with impressive resumes and a network of industry contacts, Entr'Acte Theatrix was formed.
