Beau Higgins - Page 170

Beau Higgins Currently spending his time between New York and Florida, Beau was born to a theatrical family in Brooklyn. He studied drama at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and at HB Studios. He studied theater singing with Julia Sperratore and Helen Gallagher. Beau later taught drama at the Lincoln Center Square for the Arts. It was at this time Beau began working with the Theater Development Fund and helped found New York's famed HALF PRICE TICKET BOOTH. Early in his career, Beau was screen tested and contracted for Warner Brothers. He co-hosted, an early cable variety series on Manhattan's Teleprompter channel. At this time he directed the Johnny Specca musical, SEX IS..? at the Lincoln Center Library Theater. Beau has performed Off-Broadway in FAT FELL DOWN, The Comic Strip Theater's LITTLE LULU AND THE INVISIBLE INK and WILL THE REAL ZOOPERMAN PLEASE STAND UP. Around the country he has delighted audiences with his performances in ANYTHING GOES, THE APPLE TREE, GUYS & DOLLS, and HELLZAPOPPIN! He sang for New York audiences at such cabarets as The Duplex and Upstairs at the Downstairs. He has had numerous television appearances but is most proud to have been a winning contestant on the game shows JACKPOT and THE $20,000 PYRAMID.

Broadway Drama 'Honour' Opens Gulfshore Playhouse Season

Broadway veteran Allen Fitzpatrick ('Les Miserables', 'Sweet Smell of Success', 'Damn Yankees', 'Passion', 'The Scarlet Pimpernel', '42nd Street') will star as Gus. Broadway, Off-Broadway and television actress Elizabeth Hess ('M Butterfly', 'Beggars in the House of Plenty' and television's 'Law and Order' and 'Clarissa Explains it All') will portray Honor, the central character of this drama. Jessica Rothert, who will appear as Sophie and Heidi-Marie Ferren, who portrays Claudia, will round out the cast.

At Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, NY, 8 shows in 1 week sold 21,049 tickets with gross sales of $984,829.00.

In 1962, the Berlin Wall was erected. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. Throughout these heavy flames of change and adversity, the beat went on. Music rose out of the flames into a lively, catchy, vocal sound that united a nation during turmoil.

Well remembered by local theater goers for its phenomenal run when it opened on February 26, 1991 as the premiere presentation of the newly built theater, this 4-week run will mark another landmark presentation as a major 'special' of Broadway Across America-Ft. Lauderdale presented by Florida theatrical Association at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

'Opus' New Drama Brings In 2010 At Florida Rep

Clavelli, Powers and Burttram have each appeared extensively with Florida Rep, and all three were seen in last season's Dancing at Lughnasa. Clavelli & Burttram make their first appearance of many this season in Opus, while Powers takes his final bow after beginning the season with Boeing-Boeing and Dial 'M' for Murder. Nowicki and Davies each make their second appearance with Florida Rep in Opus. Seen in last season's Art of Murder, Nowicki has worked extensively in film and television, and appeared in Opus with Orlando Shakespeare Theatre in 2008. Mr. Davies, a long-time company member with Cincinnati Shakespeare, is now a Florida based actor who made his Florida Rep debut earlier this season Dial 'M' for Murder.

'700 Sundays' - Bravo Billy Crystal!

I never imagined that a one man play starring and written by the comedian Billy Crystal, would make me cry more than any other play I have ever seen. It was magic last night as '700 Sundays' opened at the Arscht Center. Within moments of its beginning, Mr. Crystal had us all in the palm of his hand. Heck, I believe he has all in attendance wishing they were part of his family or had at least grown up with him.
