Anton Anderssen Dr. Anton Anderssen is a cultural anthropologist, specializing in "high culture." Visit his web page at Hartforth.com. Anton is a member of several high IQ societies, including Mensa, Triple 9, ISPE and Prometheus. He has seasonal residency on the Italian Riviera, The Alps, Hawaii, Michigan and elsewhere world-wide covering cultural events. On Saturday night, philanthropic patrons were treated to a wonderful Italian dinner at a fundraiser for Ridgedale Players. The evening began with generous amounts of appetizers and golden punch. The main course featured delicious lasagna, topped off by tiramisu for dessert. Actors from the theatre company performed a murder mystery set in a Detroit speakeasy during the Great Depression.

Jon Ophoff is the winner of the 2013 piano competition at Greenfield Village's seventh annual Ragtime Street Fair. His winning performance was The Cascades by Scott Joplin. After receiving the award, he was invited back for an encore, when he played Graceful Ghost Rag by William Bolcom. Tea parties on the lawn, Gershwin in the theater, and Joplin on the stage are but a few of the delightful events that take place each year during this unique festival. Ragtime, a style of music with 'ragged' or syncopated rhythm saw its heyday from 1897 to 1918.
