Thursday April 14th, McCain Auditorium of Kansas State University hosted the National tour of Ragtime directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge and produced by Phoenix Entertainment.

Broadway Academy of Performing, a kid's theatre camp hosted by Newman University Theatre Department, is now accepting registrations. The camp dates will be June 11th through 18th at Newman University in Wichita, KS

LAST TRAIN TO NIBROC, a play by Arlene Hutton, is being produced by Just in Time Theatre Productions opening April 22nd-23 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, April 24 at 2:30 pm at the Kechi Playhouse (100 E. The highly anticipated Wichita Community Theatre production of Death of a Salesman, by Arthur Miller, opens January 27th. The process, according to the company, has been intense and academic.

January 15th through 17th the Wichita Scottish Rite Signature Theatre presented The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee to the delight of local audiences. Director Deb Campbell has done it again.

"Upon A Midnight Dreary", the first attempt by Jamie Rhoads of John Henry Theatre Company, had a short three performance run at Serenity Bed and Breakfast Inn this weekend.  Though it was a rough start, there is the potential percolating with this company.

Disney's My Son Pinocchio is an enchanting little evening. Simple, soft and sweet, Pinocchio has lovely melodies by Stephen Schwartz, book by David I. Stern and direction by Wayne Bryan.

Roxy's Downtown is roaring back into Wichita's booming theatre scene. Originally Roxy's nightclub, then Cabaret Oldtown, now Roxy's Downtown has gone through several transformations. Their latest production, Always… Patsy Cline, by Ted Swindley, is keeping the eager audiences satisfied.

Wichita's theatre community has been buzzing with the hype of August: Osage County by Tracy Letts. The regional premiere of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize winning play is taking place at Wichita Community Theatre January 29th through February 15th. A multi-generational ensemble of some of Wichita's finest actors gave an opportunity for many actors and technicians to stretch their limits and challenge themselves, in a way only a magnificent script can.

Bell, Book and Candle, a lovely little light comedy by John Van Druten, opened this weekend at Wichita Community Theatre under the direction of Dan Schuster. If you're looking for some Halloween fun without the horror, Bell, Book and Candle is the right choice.

The Forum Theatre's latest production, They're Playing Our Song, is a sweet melody. With direction my Tom Frye and music direction by Steve Rue, enjoy a tuneful romp before it's too late.

Orphans, the Tony award winning play by Lyle Kessler, is running at Wichita Center for the Arts for another weekend. Shaun-Michael Morse and his small but mighty cast of three have created an unforgettable evening of theatre.

Some Enchanted Evening, directed and choreographed by Maurice Sims, and opened last night at the Crown Uptown Professional Dinner Theatre. Some Enchanted Evening, based on a concept by Jeffrey B. Moss, is a revue of the songs by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. Included are such tunes as "If I Loved You," "Lonely Room," "Shall We Dance," "People Will Say We're In Love," and "Out of My Dreams."

Music Theatre Wichita continues its impressive summer with another show stopper. Catch Me If You Can, directed by MTW's own Wayne Bryant, is a slick little number with a host of unforgettable performances.

The Odd Couple (Female Version) opened at the Forum Theatre last night. The production is a fundraiser for the theatre outside of the regular season of shows, and the cast and crew donated most or all of their time and talents.
