The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, a family story about the true meaning of Christmas, will open at the Lakewood Theatre Company on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:30 PM. This year marks the 19th time this holiday production has been staged by Lakewood Theatre Company. The show, directed by Steve Knox, is an adaptation of the popular short story written by Barbara Robinson and originally published by McCall's Magazine.

A concert version of Broadway musical A Tale of Two Cities was filmed this past summer at England's Theater Royal Brighton that will be Broadcast on PBS stations, beginning November 26. The concert production features an international cast including James Barbour, Brandi Burkhardt, Natalie Toro, and Kevin Earley from the Broadway production.

Variety has reported that writer Ray Bradbury has signed a deal with White Oaks Films to develop a new miniseries entitled 'The Bradbury Chronicles,' based on six of Bradbury's short stories of his choosing.

DRG Records is releasing a recording of Jane Krakowski's nightclub debut at Feinstein's at Loews Regency. The recording is set to be released on March 23 and will be available in all major online and retail outlets. The show, which played the famed Fienstein's at Lowes Regency from October 6 through October 17, featured songs popularized by female performers who have inspired her such as Anita O'Day, Ann-Margret and Eartha Kitt.

The Radio City Rockettes, dressed in dazzling holiday costumes, participated in a lighting ceremony at the Empire State Building on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in celebration of the opening night of the 2009 Radio City Christmas Spectacular, the stars of the legendary holiday production, the Radio City Rockettes, lit the Empire State Building in green, white and red.

The Huntington Theatre Company continues its 28th season - a season of American Stories - with A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration, a new uplifting holiday event by Pulitzer Prize winner Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive, The Mineola Twins, The Baltimore Waltz). Steppenwolf Associate Artist Jessica Thebus (Intimate Apparel, Dead Man's Cell Phone, Sonia Flew) directs. Andrew Resnick (A Civil War Christmas at Long Wharf Theatre) provides musical direction of beloved holiday music supervised, arranged, and orchestrated by Daryl Waters (Tony and Grammy Award nominee for Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk). The Huntington's production will be enhanced by local choirs caroling from the stage before each performance.

Artists and admirers will gather to toast the man whose inquiring intellect and visionary writings started many careers.
