Three Norns weaving the rope of destiny, describing past, present and future: silly ego robbery of gold of the Rhine, the curse of the ring, Wotan's own Constitution by cutting his contract spear from the nobles, her withering, its precipitation, Siegfried's meeting with Wotan. But the rope of fate of breaks, the Norns flee Erda down to her mother.
Goodbye Siegfried from Brünnhilde the Valkyrie rocks and provided her with protective runes; as a pledge of love, her Siegfried can be der Ring des Nibelungen.

1. Lift
Hagen, the son of silly ego, advises his half-brother Gunther, and his sister, Gutrune, increasing the fame of the Gibichungs: Gunther to Brünnhilde marry Gutrune, and Siegfried. In the meantime, Brünnhilde is visited by her sister Valkyrie Waltraute. This begs her to return the ring to the Rhine daughters, to solve the curse. However, Brünnhilde refuses the ring, because of Siegfried's pledge of love.
Siegfried appears, in the form of Gunther into his camouflage helmet, passes through the fire and defeat Brünnhilde. As a sign of your wedding - with the Gunther - he snatches her the ring.

2. Lift
In a night scene, Alberich warns his son Hagen to win the ring for him. When Brünnhilde arriving with Gunther sees as pair of Siegfried and Gutrune and recognizes the ring on Siegfried's hand, she accused him of loyalty breaking. Siegfried denies his guilt, but Brünnhilde, Hagen and Gunther decide his death.

3. Lift
On the hunt, Siegfried meets the Rhine daughters, who ask him to the ring, and warn him of the curse. But the ring remains at Siegfried. The hunting party joins him, prompted Hagens tells Siegfried from his previous life. While he is talking, Hagen hands him a potion that restores the memory of Brünnhilde. Hagen sees this as a confession of allegiance fracture and hits him with a spear in the back. Dying commemorates Siegfried of his love for Brünnhilde.
In the dispute over the ring, kills Hagen Gunther, but Brünnhilde submits again their original right to Siegfried - and ring - now: maps Siegfried's combustion and plunges himself into the fire. The Rhine rising over its banks flooded the cremation, the three rhinemaidens pull Hagen, who wants to win the ring for himself, in depth, the ring is dropped back again to the Rhine. While Valhalla goes up in flames, people in high emotion experience with the demise of the Göttergeschlechts.
