Shimmery Burlesque returns to the Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne after a successful debut, offering a vibrant exploration of Burlesque through the eyes of Lady Shimmery, an Australian dressmaker who finds inspiration in Paris. This innovative ensemble production showcases a cast of twenty performers adorned in dazzling costumes, blending elements of traditional Burlesque with high-energy dance numbers and aerial acts. Written and directed by Holly Mouat, the show features the talents of cabaret singer Abbey Paige Williams as Lady Shimmery, along with contributions from costume designer Kerrie Schultz, providing a heartfelt narrative that celebrates individuality and empowerment.
