R.A.I.N at Arts House – North Melbourne Town Hall

Award-winning choreographer Harrison Ritchie-Jones returns to Arts House with the world premiere of a new contemporary dance work that takes the mindfulness framework Recognise, Allow, Investigate and Nurture and lets fiction and shifting realities take over. Ritchie-Jones and collaborator Michaela Tancheff use the framework as a provocation to push their movement partnering practice to its limit, following a reflective state hijacked by fictional histories and uncertainty. Set within a black box theatre, the work strips away props and theatrical devices for a raw, exposed performance built around improvisation and shifting structures. It follows their acclaimed 2024 collaboration on CUDDLE at Arts House.
