The Butterfly Club Announces July Events

By:

July at The Butterfly Club

Highlights in July include:

- Cabaret Live! - An opportunity for emerging and established artists to perform to a discerning cabaret audience in a sophisticated and intimate setting. Whether you want to realise a life-long ambition to perform or you are looking for a friendly audience to test out new material, Cabaret Live! welcomes all performers. Wednesday 6th July at 8pm

- Trevor Jones in Sticky Situations - Trevor returns after sellout performances during the Midsumma Festival, bringing an evening of happy endings, redheads, impotence, inappropriate groping and a Beatles song about coming together... July 7th to 10th at 9pm (8pm Sun)

- Leanne Marsland in Love Me xx - After success at Short and Sweet Cabaret and The Melbourne Cabaret Festival in 2010, Leanne Marsland presents her much anticipated full length show. Delve into a world where love is discovered, and witness what can come from a little persistence, a little obsession... and just a hint of overkill. Tues 12th, Wed 13th July at 8pm, Fri 15th and Sat 16th July at 10.30pm.

- Ruth Rogers Wright in FABULOUS DIVA - What never ceases to be amazing about Nina Simone is the diversity of her music, being accessible and appealing to a huge range of audiences. FABULOUS DIVA features a great selection of music and weaves it together with quotes, biographical history and gossip to bring together the story of the late great diva. Performed by the delightful Ruth Rogers Wright and accompanied by Mark Fitzgibbon on piano. 14th - 17th July at 9pm (8pm Sun)

- The Melbourne Cabaret Festival - July 19 - 24, South Melbourne is home to over 100 performers in 78 shows! We do our part hosting The Beautiful Losers, Gillian Cosgriff, and Toby Francis in what is the biggest week in Melbourne Cabaret. We also sell tickets to all the Festival shows from our bar, Tue-Sun 5pm 'till late.

Looking ahead:

August will see the return of Chris Wallace with his extraordinary collection of original off-Broadway music in Tall Poppy Blues, and Fiona Scott Norman returns to The Butterfly Club with Disco: The Vinyl Solution.
