Drawing on histories like Freedmen's Town and Juneteenth, the work connects past and present, revealing how these communities continue to shape the city. Jalen Baker is a Houston-born vibraphonist and composer recognized as a rising star in Downbeat Magazine's Critics Poll, and a mainstay on the international jazz scene.
