Taste of TexARTS Open House Set for 8/18

LAKEWAY - TexARTS will host a "Taste of TexARTS" open house 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 to celebrate the kick off to the 2012-2013 Academy year.

In addition to getting first chance at registering for the upcoming Fall classes, attendees can also participate in free dance classes; meet the TexARTS instructors - many of who are Broadway veterans and serve on the faculty of nationally recognized Texas State University musical theatre program; watch selected performances from recent shows; enjoy refreshments and win prizes.

"If you are new to TexARTS or have been a part of our family for years, we welcome you to our open house," said Robbie Armitage, Producing Artistic Director. "We have an incredible year planned. We are especially excited about our upcoming youth productions of "Footloose," "Seussical" and "The Nutcracker."

TexARTS is a non-profit organization that offers year-round classes in acting, voice, ballet and dance as well as completely staged youth and professional productions. TexARTS' mission is to cultivate a thriving arts community by exposing all people to the visual and performing arts. The TexARTS faculty, who has earned 21 Broadway credits among them, strives to prepare and promote exceptional young talent.

TexARTS is recognized throughout the region for its professional theatre and educational programs.
