By: Robert Diamond
Tapestry Dance Company's 25th Season opens with XXV - Anticipation of Next, a production created by Resident Choreographer Matthew Shields featuring spoken word artist Ebony Stewart, live music from local jazz musicians and Tapestry's professional dance artists from around the globe. The show runs November 1-3 at Stateside Theatre at the Paramount, 719 Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78701. This electrifying cast of rhythm tap dancers forms the only professional tap Dance Company in North America.
XXV-Anticipation of Next is an exploration through the mind of a young man on the crest of adulthood. He is a dreamer, enchanted with visions of life, women, travel, family, and the driving anticipation of where next will lead him. Memories, curiosity, competition and fantasy ignite inspiration in the dreamer, creating a fun and vibrant piece that will make you want to clap your hands and tap your feet. Tickets are available at www.austintheatre.org or by calling (512) 474-1221, and range from $15-35. For more information on Tapestry Dance Company, classes or donations, visit www.tapestry.org.
