Shen Jun Movement Effect Presents 'Grit Of Soul'

The Grit of Soul launches a love letter from Austin to the rest of the world, reflecting the experiences of someone living in both China and the United States. "Grit refers to a kind of toughness. I have found that moving between cultures, while exhilarating, often involves conflict, a friction of sorts. This show is a frank exploration of how the friction between cultures affects us all, and how our blending of cultures requires some attention to the grit we each bring to the exchange." - Artistic Director, Shen Jun

Shen Jun Movement Effect brings a voice from China, a welcome presence for Austin's under-represented Asian community. As Central Texas grows, the voices of people from this region will grow in importance. Shen Jun Movement Effect intends to enrich everyone's experience by blending East and West, the old with the new, the familiar with the strange, the traditional with the modern.

Performances will take please on December 2nd, 3rd & 4th 2016 @ 7:30pm at Metropolitan Community Church of Austin. Tickets are suggested donation.
