Scholarships Available For Hill Country Community Theatre's Summer Program, ANNIE JR.
The Bob Turnbaugh Youth Summer Theatre Fund covers the tuition for children from low income families allowing them to attend the program. Bob was a founding member of the theatre and had a great impact on the Hill Country Community Theatre as it grew. The purpose of the Youth Summer Theatre Program is to teach the fundamentals of acting, as well as leadership skills and how to be a team member by being part of an ensemble.
This summer, the Hill Country Community Theatre's Youth Summer Theatre Program will produce the musical, "Annie Jr.", book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Martin Charnin. This year's program has expanded.
Due to the success of last year's program, when the theatre produced "Alice in Wonderland, Jr.", this year's program has broadened. It will still run for two weeks, but will start at 10:00 AM. Students will be asked to pack a lunch.
HCCT is now taking applications for admission. The program runs from, June 11 through June 24, Monday through Friday 10:00 AM. to 4:30 p.m. If accepted, the price of the program is $295 per student, ages 8 to 17.
There will be four public performances of "Annie Jr." - Thursday, June 21 and Friday, June 22 at 6:00 PM, and Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24 at 2:15 PM on the Hill Country Community Theatre stage.
For an application to the program, scholarship information, or for those wishing to donate to the scholarship fund, please call the theatre at (830) 693-2474, or email director@theHCCT.org.
