KUT 90.5 and Texas Performing Arts present a live broadcast of Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion," Saturday, April 20 at Bass Concert Hall. "A Prairie Home Companion," created and hosted by Garrison Keillor, is America's beloved live radio variety show broadcast from the Fitzgerald Theater in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and frequently goes on tour. Airing locally on KUT 90.5 from 5-7 p.m. Saturdays, the show is known for its musical guests, especially folk and traditional musicians, tongue-in-cheek radio drama, and Keillor's storytelling segment, "News from Lake Wobegon." It has been in production for more than 30 years and is heard live on nearly 600 public radio stations across the U.S. with a weekly audience that tops 4.3 million listeners.

Host Keillor is the recipient of Grammy, ACE, and George Foster Peabody awards, and has been inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His books include "Lake Wobegon Days," "The Book of Guys," "77 Love Sonnets," "Pilgrims: A Wobegon Romance," and "A Christmas Blizzard." His five-minute radio segment "The Writer's Almanac," celebrating authors and poetry, airs on KUT 90.5 weekdays at 9 a.m. and weekends at 11 a.m.
