Austin Shakespeare Presents Stage Combat Class with Fight Choreographer Toby Minor, Starting 8/19

Austin Shakespeare presents a new stage combat class taught by Toby Minor, professional fight choreographer. The 5-week class (which includes a final class showcase for family and friends) will be held on Mondays beginning August 19 & 26 and September 9, 16 & 23 (no class on Labor Day). All experience levels accepted, ages 12 and up.

Toby Minor is an actor combatant, certified with the SAFD (Society of American Fight Directors) and received his B.A. training from NMSU. He also holds black belt level in BudoTaijutsu (Ninjitsu), which makes him a real-life Ninja.

Toby recently won the B Iden Payne Award for his fight choreography in Hidden Room's "Rose Rage".

He has choreographed fights for various shows around town, including "Big Love" with Shrewd Productions, "Coriolanus" with Trinity Street Players, "The Three Musketeers" with Leander High School and Cedar Park High School, "Hamlet" with both Austin Shakespeare and BLACK SWAN Productions, "True West" with DYS theatre, "I Hate Hamlet" with the Georgetown Palace Theater, and "Lear" at the Vortex (for which he was nominated for a BIP Award for outstanding fight choreography). Film Choreography credits include, among others, Haze, and Omniscience with Stage left in Chicago.

Classes will be held at Waller Creek School Auditorium at 41st St. and Red River. Enrollment is now being accepted and tuition is $199 per student. For more information and to enroll, contact annc212@gmail.com.
