This weekend Eddie's Attic in Atlanta will be the location for a variety of performances including shows by Willy Porter and Shane Hines.

The events kick off on Saturday, February 20 with an evening show starring Willy Porter & Po'Girl at 8:00 PM. Porter is an acclaimed and respected guitarist and songwriter who delivers solid, crisp pop with a moody baritone that fans of Leo Kottke, Richard Thompson, Lindsay Buckingham, Ed Roland, David Berkeley, and John Mayer will enjoy. He's toured with a number of legends, including Paul Simon, Sting, Jeff Beck, and Jethro Tull. Willy is currently touring in support of his 7th CD entitled "How To Rob A Bank."

PO'GIRL's music is best described as down-hearted blues from a jazzy speakeasy colliding with poetic urban grit. They showcase a wide array of instruments-from gutbucket bass, accordion, clarinet, banjo, dobro, guitar, to electric bass, glockenspiel, piano, harmonica, bicycle bells, drums--and they all frequently trade off instruments with each song. They are equally at home playing the Massao World Music Festival, as they are at the International Jazz Festival in Montreal, the Winnipeg Folk Festival, the Woodford Music Festival in Australia or just playing for fun for the people in Vondel Park, Amsterdam. Suffice to say Po'Girl makes 21st Century roots music, urban roots - never derivative, not faithfully aping a beloved tradition. Russell, Teixeira, Sidelinger, and August don't re-hash the old forms, they reshape and reinvigorate them for new ears.

At midnight on the 22nd, Royal Thunder will also perform. Royal Thunder is Mlny Parsonz voice and bass, Josh Weaver's guitar, and Jesse Stuber's drums. The sound is known as electric ritual rock.

Sunday, February 21st there will be an afternoon show at 4:00 PM by Laughing Pizza, the real family band. Mom, Lisa, dad, Billy, and their 14 year old daughter Emily celebrate the release of their new CD and DVD - AND a first time screening of their new music video, "Let's Go Play!" While based in Atlanta, they perform from the east coast to the west, traveling the country in their very colorful, "Pizza mobile." They have appeared on the Today Show, and they've even performed at the White House three consecutive years (with Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers). They've earned 6 consecutive Parent's Choice awards, as well as 3 awards from i-Parenting (the largest online parenting network). Together they create fun, inspiring pop music for the whole family.

Then at 7:30 PM Seth Glier will perform with Shane Hines. Seth Glier will grab you...if not with his powerful falsetto or his melodic prowess, then with what Performer Magazine calls his "intoxicating groove." The 20-year-old singer, pianist and guitarist - who abandoned studies at The Berklee School of Music after one year because he "decided I should be playing for people and not for grades" - aims straight for the gut on his Rachael Sage's MPress Records debut, "The Trouble With People." He has shared stages with John Mayer, Martin Sexton, Erin McKeown and Cheryl Wheeler. Attic favorite Livingston Taylor says, "Listening to Seth's music gives me hope for what's to come. The next generation is alive and well.

Currently recording his fourth studio album, "All the Quiet, All the Chaos", Shane Hines' time is split between recording, writing and touring. In addition to co-writing with amazing writers like Lori McKenna, Cory Batten, and Jim Lauderdale he is on the road touring with Corey Smith as well as independently. He was recently nominated for 4 Washington Area Music Awards.

Eddie's Attic is a popular live music venue for aspiring and accomplished performing songwriters. Located in Decatur, Georgia a small, artist-friendly town within the metro Atlanta area - a cultural blend of Berkeley and Mayberry. A "listening room" with a superior sound system/acoustics, where customers are asked to silence cell phones and actually listen to the songs, has made the Attic's music room a hit with music enthusiasts. Eddie's Attic draws both fans and artists from all over the world, and continues to be one of the premier music venues in the South. On any given night, music lovers can hear talented performing songwriters and bands playing original music in an intimate setting. The Attic welcomes all varieties of original, live music and embraces the diversity that allows independent music to thrive.
