Theatrical Outfit has announced My Name is Asher Lev, based on the novel by Chaim Potok. August 22 – September 16, 2012 at the Balzer Theater at Herren's. Starring Nick Arapoglou, Lane Carlock and Brian Kurlander and directed by Mira Hirsch.

Possessing a prodigious artistic ability, Asher Lev is driven to draw and paint the world as he sees it. Born into a Hasidic family in post-World War II Brooklyn, his artistic genius threatens to estrange him from both his parents and his observant Jewish community. A fascinating coming-of-age story that seamlessly explores art, family and religion.

WHAT: My Name is Asher Lev. Stage adaptation by Aaron Posner of the novel by Chaim Potok. Recommended for 16 and up.
