Theater of the Stars Presents ADDAMS FAMILY, PETER PAN, et al. in 2012-2013

By:

Theater of the Stars brings THE PRODUCERS, Cathy Rigby in PETER PAN, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, THE KING AND I, and MARY POPPINS to the Fabulous Fox Theatre.

THE PRODUCERS

Tuesday, July 24 - Sunday, July 29, 2012

THE PRODUCERS, a big Broadway Musical, won a record 12 Tony Awards and wowed capacity crowds night after night. It returns to Atlanta after an 8 year absence and sets the standard for modern, outrageous, in-your-face humor.

Bialystock and Bloom! Those names should strike terror and hysteria in anyone familiar with Mel Brooks’ classic cult comedy film. The plot is simple: a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history thereby bilking their backers (all “little old ladies”) out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! At the core of the insanely funny adventure is a poignant emotional journey of two very different men who become friends.

With a truly hysterical book co-written by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan (ANNIE) and music and lyrics by Mr. Brooks, THE PRODUCERS skewers Broadway traditions and takes no prisoners as it proudly proclaims itself an “equal opportunity offender!” The Producers will be produced by Theater of the Stars.

PETER PAN

Tuesday, August 7 - Sunday, August 12, 2012

Tony Award nominee Cathy Rigby takes flight in an all new production of PETER PAN! Discover the magic all over again of this two time Emmy award winning and two time Tony award nominated production. PETER PAN is filled with timeless magical moments and a captivating hook. The legend you thought you knew, is now the adventure you never dreamed possible… CATHY RIGBY IS PETER PAN!

THE ADDAMS FAMILY

Tuesday, August 14 - Sunday August 19, 2012

THE ADDAMS FAMILY is a smash-hit musical comedy that brings the darkly delirious world of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday, Pugsley and, of course, Lurch to spooky and spectacular life. Come meet the family, starring Douglas Sills (LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL) and Sara Gettelfinger (NINE, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS).

THE KING AND I

Wednesday, September 5 - Tuesday September 11, 2012

THE KING AND I has captured the hearts and minds of millions with its charming story of the British governess brought into the court of Siam to tutor the King’s many children. Once within the splendor of the Royal Palace, Anna and the King grow to understand one another and learn about each other’s cultures. This unique love story is told with one of the most glorious and unforgettable scores ever written. The much-loved songs and sweeping melodies from the show include: “The March of the Siamese Children,” “Getting to Know You,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Hello Young Lovers” and the unforgettable “Shall We Dance.” THE KING AND I will be produced by Theater of the Stars.

MARY POPPINS

Tuesday, April 2 - Sunday, April 7, 2013

MARY POPPINS is bringing its own brand of Broadway magic to theaters across the country, which has the New York Daily News calling it “a roof-raising, toe-tapping, high-flying extravaganza!” This spectacular hit has astonished over seven million people worldwide with its pure Broadway magic. With four productions currently running on three continents, Mary Poppins is one of the biggest stage musical successes in recent years to come out of London and New York.

The consummate Disney production features the irresistible story and unforgettable songs from one of the most popular Disney films of all time, plus brand-new breathtaking dance numbers and astonishing stage-craft to make it everything you could ever want in a hit Broadway show.
