After two years of sold out runs, The Second City returns by popular demand for its third season of collaboration with the ALLIANCE THEATRE - The Second City: Miracle at 1280 Peachtree Street, a side-splitting sketch comedy escape from the holidays. Once again, the hit comedy team from Chicago - renowned for launching the careers of such noted comedians as Steve Carell, John Belushi, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, Mike Myers, John Candy and Tina Fey - partners with Atlanta actors and comedians to create an all-new evening of theatre featuring new, Atlanta-specific sketches and classic scenes from The Second City's comedy vaults.

The Second City: Miracle at 1280 Peachtree Street is written and created by the cast with additional material created by T.J. Shanoff and Seth Weitberg. These masters of sketch and improv comedy continue to find new ways to malign popular universal themes that drive us crazy during the holidays, while lobbing Atlanta potshots as only they can - creating an irreverent show and the ideal anti-holiday holiday revue. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has raved of the ALLIANCE THEATRE's collaboration with The Second City in the past: "Designed and performed with loopy abandon, purposefully engineered to mock the city's politics, prejudices, flaws, foibles, and institutions, the show leaves skidmarks on everything from our hoopskirt past to our hip hop present." Audiences should expect much the same wild, fun ride for this third installment.
As an exclusive sneak peek into the creation of the show, cast members will be tweeting during rehearsals for The Second City: Miracle on 1280 Peachtree Street starting October 19, providing followers a glimpse at the 2010 content. Observers may follow this unique collaborative experience on Twitter at #TSCATL2010.

Of the six-member cast, three local improv and sketch comedy favorites add to the Atlanta-flavor that peppers the show: Amy Roeder (returning from the 2008 and 2009 shows), Tara Ochs and Randy Havens. Other performers include Micah Sherman, Ric Walker and Claudia Wallace.
Billy Bungeroth directs this two-act satire, transforming the Hertz Stage into an underground comedy cabaret. Additional members of the artistic team are Ryan Bernier, assistant to the director, and Matthew Loren Cohen, musical director.

Performances are Tuesday through Friday at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., November 5 - December 12, 2010 on the Hertz Stage. There will be no matinee on Saturday, November 6 and no evening performance on Thursday, November 26.
