Mount Pleasant Homecoming, written by Connie Ray and conceived by Alan Bailey, is the third installment in a series of plays. It's October, 1945, and the gospel-singing Sanders Family is back together again, for now. The war is over and America's years of prosperity are just beginning. Reverend Mervin Oglethorpe (Alan Kilpatrick) has been given the opportunity to preach in Texas and he's bringing along his ten-gallon hat and his very pregnant wife, June (Jennifer Akin). Denise (Laura Floyd) and her husband join Mervin and June in starting the baby boom after having their own set of twins. With Reverend Oglethorpe leaving town, Dennis Sanders(Jeremy Wood) will serve as Mount Pleasant's new pastor. Join the Sanders Family including Vera (Karen Howell), Burl (Tommy Hancock), and Uncle Stanley (Scott DePoy) as they send Mervin and June off in style, with hilarious and touching stories and over twenty toe-tapping Bluegrass Gospel favorites.
