Theater Emory presents six plays by six young writers in the premiere of "6x6," February 16-26 at Emory's Schwartz Center for Performing Arts. The evening features one-person short plays from current and former playwriting students at Emory.

Developed during Theater Emory's Brave New Works festival in 2011, and with the guidance of Theater Emory and Creative Writing Program faculty, these plays present original characters from six unique young voices. A serial-killing baker, a dispirited cartoonist, a bitter barista and others create an evening of theater both thoughtful and funny.

Theater Emory's production of "6x6" features direction by faculty members Tim McDonough, Donald McManus, Michael Evenden, Pat Miller, Janice Akers, and Lisa Paulsen. It addition to the student written work, student designers will work with faculty members to create sets, costumes, sound and lights for each of the six plays.

Theater Emory's premiere of "6x6" opens in the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts Theater Lab February 16-18 and 22-25 at 7 p.m. and February 19 and 26 at 2 p.m. For tickets and additional information visit arts.emory.edu, or call the Arts at Emory box office at 404-727-5050. "6x6" was commissioned by and developed at Theater Emory.
