Puppetry Meets Film Noir in Staging of PAPER CUT at the Center for Puppetry Arts

When a secretary stays at work after hours, her lonely corner of the office becomes the setting for an imaginary world of old-school glamour and romance. Soon, the line blurs between reality and fantasy, and her romantic tale becomes a hilarious, Hitchcockian nightmare. Yael Rasooly, a one-woman tour de force from Tel Aviv, Israel, created and stars in the internationally acclaimed, adult show. Paper Cut has been performed at 40 festivals in 15 countries and will play the Center for Puppetry Arts Downstairs Theater for one weekend only, June 21-24.

Paper Cut is presented as part of the New Directions Series for Adults and Teens. Age recommendations vary with each production. Premiering with Paper Cut, the 2018-19 season includes five New Directions Series productions, as part of a larger initiative to offer more programming for adult audiences, which will continue with the after-hours Puppet Party Series beginning in August.
