One Night Only Performance Of LYSISTRATA To Benefit Planned Parenthood And The ACLU Of Georgia

Atlanta Models & Talent and The Lysistrata Project will host a benefit performance of the Greek comedy, LYSISTRATA to benefit Planned Parenthood and the ACLU of Georgia at Theatrical Outfit on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 7 PM.

The show will be directed by Chad Darnell. The cast currently includes Bruce Greenwood (THE RESIDENT), Sam Underwood (DYNASTY), Jessica Miesel (THE RESIDENT), Amber Nash (ARCHER), Steve Coulter (THE ACT), Joshua Mikel (THE WALKING DEAD), Caroline Arapoglou (STRANGER THINGS), David Shae (FLORIDA GIRLS), Andrea Frankle (THE PURGE) and Natasha Drena (AN LA MINUTE), Tyler Kaye Whitley (THE BOBBY DEBARGE STORY), Mike Forbs (THE RESIDENT), Rob Mello (PHOTOBOMB), Libby Blanton (BLACK LIGHTNING) and Lindsay Lamb (UNDERCOVER BROTHER 2)

LYSISTRATA is an ancient Greek comedy by Aristophanes, originally performed in classical Athens in 411 BC. The play is a comic account of a woman's mission to end the Peloponnesian War between Greek city states by denying all the men of the land sex. Lysistrata persuades the women of the warring cities to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands and lovers as a means of forcing the men to negotiate peace; a strategy, however, that inflames the battle between the sexes.

The benefit performance is part of The Lysistrata Project; a grass roots collective of Georgia artists and businesses, committed to raising awareness and funds for women's charities affected by the HB 481.

"HB 481 is currently threatening the film industry here in Georgia, but it's also threatening the lives and safety of women all over the South. We're committed to raising awareness and support for those who need it," said Chad Darnell. "I'm so excited to bring together a group of talented working actors in the Atlanta film community for one night to raise money for the cause."

Sarah Carpenter, owner of Atlanta Models & Talent: "It is imperative, as an industry with such a large impact in the state, that we rally together to support our essential human rights. We must collectively strive to ensure the continued future of our thriving market and the people it benefits."

A silent auction will be held before the show starting at 6 PM.

Established in 1959, Atlanta Models & Talent, Inc. is the Southeast's oldest SAG-AFTRA franchised talent agency.

General admission tickets cost $25. Doors open at 6 PM and performance begins at 7 PM. Theatrical Outfit is located at 84 Luckie Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30303
