Newnan Theatre Company Announces WE FOUND LOVE AND AN EXQUISITE SET OF PORCELAIN FIGURES ABOARD THE S.S. FARNDALE AVENUE

The Newnan Theatre Company is pleased to announce the return of their "sister theatre troupe," The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society, as they present their latest epic production, We Found Love and an Exquisite Set of Porcelain Figures Aboard the S.S. Farndale Avenue.

This time, the ladies, and their hapless all-purpose handyman, Gordon, are presenting a show in the flavor of all those glamorous stories from the movies of the 30's, where loads of rich, fancy people meet on a cruise ship and fall in love, break hearts, and burst into song (and dance) for no apparent reason. And, as is bound to happen with the Farndale Ladies, things don't go as well as they would like.

"I love these shows," says director Mary Caroline Moore. "These ladies are trying so hard to make art, and inevitably, their art goes horribly wrong; yet they carry on. The show must go on, no matter what disaster occurs."

"I've been very lucky that the cast of the first of the Farndale shows has been willing to carry their roles on from show to show. Part of the appeal of these shows has become our audiences seeing the Ladies, and Gordon, from show to show. They know these characters, and our cast does, too. We've had audience members come up to cast members in the grocery store, quoting Farndale lines to them. That's amazing!"

Returning to the "Farndale" stage are Andi Laaker and Terri Whitley, once again playing rivals Thelma Greenwood and Phoebe Reese. Allison Yost plays the slightly-dense but well-meaning Felicity, the youngest member of the Farndale Society but certainly the most willing to do whatever it takes. Megs Free returns to play several roles, as does Tony Daniel, once more playing Gordon Pugh, not the brightest light in the darkness, by any means, but soldiering on as best he can.

"It's very rare to find a series of plays that finds a following like these shows have," says Yost. "The whole cast has been a part of the Farndale world for three seasons now, and we're all like family. We bounce ideas off one another, we crack one another up, it's so much fun being a part of this team!"

We Found Love and an Exquisite Set of Porcelain Figures Aboard the S.S. Farndale Avenue opens February 1 in the Black Box arena at Newnan Theatre Company. The show runs through February 11th. Show times are 8 PM, Thursdays through Saturdays, with a 3 PM matinee performance on both Sundays. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the Newnan Theatre Company website, www.newnantheatre.org, or by calling NTC at 770.683.6282. The show is family-friendly. If you have any questions about the show, please call Tony Daniel, Artistic Director of Newnan Theatre Company, or email him at artistic-director@newnantheatre.org .
