LOOKINGGLASS ALICE Opens at Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, 3/31

By:

LOOKINGGLASS ALICE is set to open at the ALLIANCE THEATRE in Atlanta on March 31st and run through May 2nd.

LOOKINGGLASS ALICE will be adapted and directed by David Catlin and produced in association with the Lookingglass Theatre Company.

LOOKINGGLASS ALICE defies logic - and gravity - in a topsy-turvy, timeless tale of a little girl who journeys through the looking glass to become a queen. Alice floats, falls, and flies overhead in a radically reconfigured Alliance Stage. It's a dizzyingly playful feat of ingenious wonder, peppered with playful acrobatics certain to awaken the kid in everyone.

Adapted from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass by Ensemble Member and Artistic Director David Catlin, this uplifting presentation of the classic is a muscular, acrobatic and dizzyingly playful show for all ages. Alice falls, floats, flies, defies gravity and the rules of logic during her wonderland journey through the looking glass to become a queen. With a juggling Mad Hatter, a precariously balancing Humpty Dumpty, and a bumbling Knight who invents his way into Alice's heart, Lookingglass Alice revisits the stories that inspired the founding of Lookingglass Theatre Company. Produced in association with The Actors Gymnasium.

Since 1968, the Alliance has served as Atlanta's foremost theater, working within the local, national, and international communities to become one of the leading regional theatres in America. From its inaugural presentation of King Arthur to its Broadway-bound premiere production of THE COLOR PURPLE, the Alliance consistently has advanced the art of theater. Over the years, the Alliance has produced more than 50 world premieres, bringing the world's best resources to Atlanta in one of the nation's finest venues.
