LAMB CHOP 2.0 Set for Center for Puppetry Arts Today
As part of this year's National Day of Puppetry celebrations, the Center for Puppetry Arts will present Mallory Lewis, daughter of the late Shari Lewis, in an exclusive live production of Lamb Chop 2.0: Everything You Wanted To Know About Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop, But Were Afraid to Ask.
Today, April 26, at 3 p.m., the performance, hosted by world-renowned artist Nicolosi, salutes 70 years of Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop and marks a special unveiling of a new commemorative United States Postal Service stamp featuring the beloved puppetry duo, as painted by Nicolosi.
Nicolosi and Mallory Lewis invite audiences to hang out with their favorite sweetheart, Lamb Chop! Throughout the enchanting hour-long performance, the audience will be thrilled by rare, classic television archival footage, as Lamb Chop and Mallory are interviewed live by Nicolosi, recounting stories of decades of travel around the world with Shari Lewis. The audience is encouraged to "grill the Chop" during a Question and Answer session.
Following the performance, patrons are invited to a meet-and-greet, where they may savor a private word and take photographs with Lamb Chop, Mallory Lewis and Nicolosi. Exclusive commemorative Lamb Chop merchandise will also be available for sale and autographing.
Other highlights of the National Day of Puppetry include performances of E.B. White's classic tale of unlikely friendship: Charlotte's Web, exclusive free sock puppet making workshops, a Members-Only film and a fun-filled visit from the Center's own mascot puppet, Sockly. Ticket prices vary per event; more information can be found at http://puppet.org/nationaldayofpuppetry.shtml
Tickets for Lamb Chop 2.0 are $13.25 (Members) / $20.50 (Nonmembers) and include Museum admission, as well as a chance to make their own sock puppet. Tickets can be purchased online at www.puppet.org or by calling the ticket sales office at 404-873-3391.
