Emory Students Set for BARENAKED VOICES Benefit, 3/23

By: Mar. 06, 2012

Strong voices and helping hands work together as Emory University's student-led a cappella groups join with the Emory Concert Choir for "Barenaked Voices," a night of unaccompanied vocal performance benefitting Active Minds at Emory and Emory Helpline, Friday, March 23 at 8 p.m. in the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts.

Now in its ninth year, "Barenaked Voices" began as an opportunity for the student run a cappella groups to experience performance in Emerson Concert Hall, a venue known for its world-class acoustics, but has grown to become a highly anticipated annual celebration.

In addition to being a well-loved Emory tradition, donations collected at the concert benefit Emory Active Minds, a student-run mental health advocacy group and Emory Helpline, a telephone counseling and referral service providing anonymous peer counseling and confidential support to members of the Emory Community.

"Barenaked Voices" is Friday, March 23, at 8 p.m. at the Schwartz Center for Performing Arts, 1700 North Decatur Road, Atlanta, GA, 30322. The concert is free and non-ticketed. Donations will be accepted to benefit Emory Active Minds and Emory Helpline. For more information, visit www.arts.emory.edu or call the Emory Arts box office at 404-727-5050.
