Calling All Lovers and Skeptics! Celebrate Valentine's Day at Whole World Improv Theatre

By:

Whole World Improv Theatre, founded in the heart of Midtown in 1994, is Atlanta's longest running improv comedy company and serves as the artistic home to over 35 actors. The award-winning ensemble, together with its audience, creates theatrical improv shows four times a week, every week, in its flagship Midtown theatre. The Company also runs one of the region's most comprehensive educational programs for youth and adults.

Founders Chip Powell (Artistic Director) and Emily Reily Russell (Managing Director) will present two Valentine's Day offerings, one for lovers and one for skeptics! In the Valentine's Day performance, LOVE, WHOLE WORLD STYLE riffs off the 70s TV comedy, "Love, American Style". For the skeptics, Whole World presents THE BITTER, LONELY VALENTINE'S PUKEFEST.

Tickets are on sale now, along with The Classic Improv Show on Friday and Saturday evenings, and The MAX, on Saturdays at 10:30pm. Tickets range from $10 to $34; special events tickets vary. Visit www.wholeworldtheatre.com for details.

LOVE, WHOLE WORLD STYLE is slated for Valentine's Day, Tuesday, February 14, at 8pm. The show spoofs the 70s TV comedy Love, American Style, and as in the hit, prime-time show, Whole World patrons will watch the weaving of three stories about lovers and how they make things work...Only this version will be layered with improvisation, audience suggestions, and comedy, as only the Whole World Main Stage company can deliver.

There is a VIP package for the Valentine's show, which includes reserved, priority seating for two, and a bottle of wine (red, white, or champagne). There will be sweets with the cast after the show in the café.

LOVE, WHOLE WORLD STYLE

General Admission: $24

VIP Package: $60 (includes two tickets, priority seating, AND a bottle of red, white, or bubbly!)

BITTER, LONELY VALENTINE'S PUKEFEST is back! A huge hit last year, this year's show is slated for Saturday, February 11, in the late show slot at 10:30pm. This show is chock full of stories and scenes about heartbreak, break-ups, the walk of shame, and other ins and outs of being single, told through the lens of improv games and crazy suggestions. Each ticket comes with A BEER IN A BAG* and crazy prizes for suggestions in the theatre. *You know-a cold, tall one! Non-alcoholic substitute available, if preferred.

Tickets are on sale online at www.wholeworldtheatre.com and by calling the Box Office at 404-817-7529.

PUKEFEST

General Admission: $19 (includes a beer in a bag)

The Boss Ticket: $24 (includes reserved, priority seating, and a beer in a bag)

Ongoing performances:

Thursday is "Ladies Night"-Ladies get in FREE between 7:00 and 7:30. Students get in for $5 with an I.D. Otherwise, tickets are $10 (general admission) and $15 (The Boss ticket-reserved, priority seating).

Fridays at 9pm and Saturdays at 8pm, the company presents "The Classic Improv Show". The Classic Show consists of two 45-minute sets with a 10-15 minute intermission and is the format that has made Whole World the premier improv theatre in Atlanta. During the classic show, the actors enter and exit the stage and the show is very theatrical with costumes and props, and live music. In addition, the company shares their filmed "man on the street" renegades and sketches during this show. This is the full-on Whole World "Classic" Package. Tickets are $24 (general admission) and $34 (The Boss ticket-reserved, priority seating)

Saturdays at 10:30, Whole World presents "THE MAX", one jam-packed hour of WWIT's risky and racy comedy. The Max is one 60-minute set with no intermission. The actors are on the stage the entire time and it's more of a black box/free form show in that actors will enter and exit each other's scenes at any time. These are the most demanding, hard-hitting games delivered in one fast paced, no holds barred, hour. Tickets are $15 (general admission) and $20 (The Boss ticket-reserved, priority seating).

Whole World Theatre is located at 1216 Spring Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30309. There is ample, free parking behind the theatre, accessible from Williams Street (the GPS address for this lot is 1219 Williams Street, Atlanta GA 30309). The Arts Center MARTA Station is only a couple short blocks' walk. Whole World has a café, where snacks, beer, wine, and sodas are available for purchase.
