Welcome to the halls James Madison High School! Where everyone's expected either a jock, cheerleader, band member, or a part of an elite club or organization. At JMHS, students are dealing with pressures from their parents, peers, and even themselves.

Now, here's where you'll meet Emma. She's your average teenager, living in a small-town. She loves music and hanging with friends. What's the problem? She's a lesbian in an anti-gay town called Heaven, Indiana.

She becomes an instant outcast-and news story-when her high school cancels the prom rather than let her attend with her girlfriend. Sensing a chance to correct an injustice-and maybe get some good publicity along the way-a group of fading Broadway stars takes up the cause, and invades this middle of nowhere place. But their bumbling attempts at social activism make the situation far worse than they-or Emma-could have ever imagined.

This high energy reminds the audience of the importance of "loving thy neighbor." It is compelling, thought-provoking, and entertaining. You will love it from start to finish. "[The Prom] reminds of my high school days, but with better music and a much happier ending," says Brittany Harris of Atlanta. "I really loved the singing and choreography, as well of the scène changes." Viewers agree that the scenic design is impeccable.

Directed by and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, The Prom is true to the culture of the ALLIANCE THEATRE. It steps outside of the box with amazing talent and an incredible story line. There was never a dull moment.

Tickets for The Prom may be purchased at alliancetheatre.org or by calling the Box Office at 404.733.5000. The Prom is running through September 25.
