On June 5 Aurora Children's Playhouse: Summer Edition has fun with science presenting Big Thinkers Science Exploration with their show Air Up There! Air... it's all around us... but do what do we really know about it? The Big Thinkers explore the properties of air in a presentation full of thrills and big laughs. Between the floating beach balls and children (via the Big Thinkers hovercraft), as well as screaming rocket balloons this show is sure to be a blast. Who ever thought something as simple as air could be this FUN.

Rob Cleveland is a noted children's author and storyteller extraordinaire. With a background as a successful stand-up comedian, Rob brings a unique take to some traditional folk tales, focusing especially on trickster characters such as Anansi, High John and Br'er Rabbit. Rob will delight audiences of all ages in his high-energy performance Traditional Folktales with a Twist on June 12.

After a successful debut last summer, on June 19 Aurora Children's Playhouse: Summer Edition welcomes BlackTop Playground: Improv Comedy for Kids. BlackTop Improv Group is comprised of internationally known comedians that have appeared on BET, HBO and Comedy Central. Much of the BlackTop success comes from these fellows having a child-like sense of humor. With quick wit and imagination, BlackTop instantly creates funny scenes using suggestions from the crowd, and with those suggestions coming from children, you get a hilariously creative comedy show with tons of audience interaction. Don't miss the most unique, versatile and comically explosive force in the entertainment industry today.

On June 26 kids will get wild as Zoo Atlanta presents their exciting ZooMobile Animal Adventure. A trained educator presents an exciting program using live animals, biofacts like bones and fun activities! This popular program gives children a connection to animals and conservation through audience participation. All the fun of an animal encounter show at the zoo in the air conditioned comfort of Aurora Theatre.

Aurora Children's Playhouse: Summer Edition concludes with Atlanta magician, the amazing Arthur Atsma, and his mega-hit Camp Aurora Magic Show on July 10. Arthur will amaze and amuse folks of all ages with a show filled with captivating sleight-of-hand magic, audience interaction and comedy. Magic has a wonderful way of capturing one's attention. When a child is focused on a magic trick or thinks, "How did he do that?" their minds are open to a world of possibility and learning. It's not necessarily magic, but Arthur Atsma has a way of making tickets disappear.

Aurora Children's Playhouse features puppeteers, magicians, storytellers, jugglers and musicians intended for youngsters to have their first theatrical experiences. At about 45 minutes in length, perfect for the young attention span, these lively performances are fun for the whole family. Aurora Children's Playhouse: Summer Edition is back for a fifth summer with Wednesday morning performances at 10 & 11:30am.
