Atlanta Fringe Festival to Celebrate 2015 Lineup with Fun Size Fringe
The Atlanta Fringe Festival, having just announced the lineup for their 4th annual festival, is ready to party! In celebration of their 2015 lineup, the ATL Fringe will take over Mary's in East Atlanta Village with drink specials, raffle prizes, banging music and live performances by just a handful of the artists being showcased at this year's festival in June. As with the festival itself, the performances will run an eclectic gamut from modern dance to rap to sketch comedy and a few points in between. It all goes down Thursday, February 26 at 7PM, with $10 suggestion donation and a portion of the bar proceeds supporting the festival's production costs.
Artists confirmed to appear:
• The Lyrric Cosby Jackson Dance Project (modern dance/live music)
• Twinhead Theatre (sketch comedy - http://www.twinheadtheatre.org)
• Crizzy Moe (hip-hop)
• The Roots Dance Project (contemporary/classical dance)
• The KSU Tellers (storytelling - https://www.facebook.com/KSUTellersPage)
• Dark Penguin (variety performance)
• Improvasaurus (improv comedy)
Per Festival's tradition, the 20 productions in this year's festival were selected via random, unjuried lottery -- literally pulled out of a hat -- from a pool of over 40 submissions from 9 different states. This year's lineup, with many productions based right here in the Atlanta area, features 8 companies returning for their second and in some cases third trip to the festival. This year's venues, all located in East Atlanta, include 7 Stages (returning as the Festival's headquarters), the Highland Ballroom, the Montessori In Town and the Marianna event space at Wrecking Bar Brewpub.
