Youth Performance & Theater Tech Training Group Come To NYC

On March 30th, more than 35 talented youth will travel to New York City to work on the original musical, Ever Happily After, with multi award-winning writers Randy Klein (Music), Jill Jaysen (Book), and Matthew Hardy (Book and Lyrics). The young cast and crew will present the musical fairytale in Gainesville, Florida in June. The workshop will be held at Pearl Studios.

"Thanks to their hard work and fundraising efforts, our kids will experience the ultimate theater magic immersion adventure", said Rhonda Wilson, Founder, Star Center Theatre. "One highlight will be our Ever Happily After workshop with Randy Klein, Jill Jaysen and Matthew Hardy". According to Randy Klein, "with over 20 roles for young actors, Ever Happily After is becoming a favorite among youth theater and theater educators."

Rhonda Wilson founded Star Center Theatre in 2000 to provide arts education and performance opportunities for youth. Star Center exists to provide experiences that educate, challenge and inspire young people through the arts. They provide performance and technical theater training opportunities to help develop lifelong skills that can be used in any profession they choose. Rhonda Wilson has been recognized nationally for her service including a Finalist for the Excellence in Theatre Education Award, sponsored by Carnegie Mellon University and presented each year by the Tony Awards. She recently received the Sara Spencer Child Drama Award from the Southeastern Theatre Conference. They have received several awards including the Spotlight on Youth and Governor's Award for Investment in Youth.

About the show - This whimsical musical, featuring Cinderella and her "happily ever after" fairytale friends, is infused with humorous references to life in the 21st century. The story shines a bright light on the fact that all that glitters is not necessarily gold and magic can be found in the most unexpected places.

Ever Happily After was originally commissioned by Center Stage Theater Company in Westport, CT was in the New York Music Theatre Festival and played to sold out audiences.
