Barbara Brandt will explore the dynamics of costume design, from concept to creation, with fashion designer B Michael and choreographer Andrea Schermoly on Monday, February 9, 2015, in Studio 5 at 6:30 at New York City Center (130 West 56th Street, New York City). Also participating in the panel and debuting an original pas de deux are principal dancer Chase Finlay and Youth America Grand Prix alumna and soloist Lauren Lovette, both of New York City Ballet. A reception will follow the discussion. B Michael will create a one-of-a-kind tutu to be auctioned off at the conclusion of the evening. Proceeds from the event will provide much-needed scholarships for talented dancers.

YAGP founding Board Chair Barbara Brandt says, "I want to give the audience an opportunity to join the designer, dancers, and choreographer, in the studio, as we explore the question, 'What is a costume?'"

Tickets for the event are $150 for General Admission and $250 for VIP Reserved seats. To purchase tickets please contact Erin Arbuckle, YAGP Development Manager, 646.791.9500, earbuckle@yagp.org.

Doors for the event will open at 6:00.

Youth America Grand Prix supports and develops world-class dancers ages 9 to 19 of all ethnic, economic, and geographic backgrounds by providing scholarship auditions and educational and performance opportunities, and by serving as the global network of dance, connecting students, teachers, schools, dancers, dance companies, and audiences.
