Wide Eyed Productions Announces Its 2010 Season
Wide Eyed Productions (Kristin Skye Hoffmann, Artistic Director) announced today its 2010 season. Recently named one of NYTheatre.com's People of the Year, the company follows its ambitious 2009 season with a revival of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot by Stephen Adly Guirgis, the world premiere of Noah's Arkansas by Jerrod Bogard and Henry VI, Part III.
The 2010 Season:
The Last Days of Judas Iscariot
by Stephen Adly Guirgis
directed by Rebecca Hengstengberg
January 14 - February 7, 2010
Richmond Shepard Theater (309 E. 26th St.)
Simultaneously pious and profane, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot follows the Trial of the Millennium. Between Heaven and Hell, two attorneys argue the fate of the Bible's most infamous sinner, Judas Iscariot. Mother Theresa, Satan, Sigmund Freud, and Pontius Pilate are among the witnesses called to testify in Stephen Adly Guirgis's seriocomic look at free will, destiny, forgiveness and redemption. Religion has never been this real.
Noah's Arkansas
by Jerrod Bogard
April 2010
Wings Theater (154 Christopher Street)
"Sometimes the biggest hurt you can do somebody, is forgive'm for the hurt they done to you, one they aint forgive themselves for yet."
Jerrod Bogard's world premiere play is a searing family drama. Set in Little Rock, Arkansas during a torrential flash flood, Noah's Arkansas follows three generations of men -- elderly Lester, middle-aged Wayne and teenager Michael -- as they struggle with the consequences of the past.
Henry VI, Part III
by William Shakespeare
June 2010
With a track record of critical praise for the classic plays such as The Medea, Much Ado About Nothing, and Phedre, Wide Eyed Productions now fixes its gaze on Henry VI part III, one of Shakespeare's most riveting histories."
