Whatsonstage.com reports that Andrew Lloyd Webber will take part in "Concert for Diana" at Wembley Stadium.  Joined by Connie Fisher and Lee Mead - two of the West End stars he discovered - Webber will appear at the Princess Diana tribute concert on Sunday, July 1st.

The British theatre website states: "Lloyd Webber's specially devised segment is scheduled to begin at 6.45pm. In addition to The Sound of Music's Fisher and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat's Mead, the composer will be joined by Anastacia, Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman, Jason Donovan, Josh Groban, Andrea Ross and Donny Osmond in performing his songs. The principal singers will be backed by a 24-strong choir from Chickenshed's Children's Theatre, of which Diana was a patron."

Fisher was chosen to star as Maria in The Sound of Music through Webber and David Ian's reality show talent search "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria," while Mead was similarly cast in the title role of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat through Webber's "Any Dream Will Do."

The concert, marking the 10th anniversary of Diana's tragically early death, will be organized by her sons, Princes William and Harry.  Diana would have turned 46 on July 1st.  Two billion people worldwide are expected to watch the concert's live broadcast, which will air from 3.30pm to 10.00pm, on both BBC One and BBC Radio Two.  Funds from the concert will be given to charities that Princess Diana supported, as well as charities of which her sons are patrons. Also appearing in "Concert for Diana" will be: Bryan Ferry, Duran Duran, Elton John, The Feeling, James Morrison, Joss Stone, Kanye West, Lily Allen, Natasha Bedingfield, Nelly Furtado, Orson, P Diddy, Pharrell Williams, Rod Stewart, Roger Hodgson of Supertramp, Take That, Tom Jones, Status Quo, Will Young and the English National Ballet.

A Tony Award-winning composer as well as theater owner and impresario, Webber's many shows include The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Aspects of Love, Sunset Boulevard and Whistle Down the Wind.
