Wayside Theatre Holds Open Call Auditions 10/11-17

Wayside Theatre will hold open call auditions for union and non-union actors for the Christmas production and the remainder of 2010-2011 Season at the theater in Middletown.

The auditions will be held Monday, October 11 - 10:00 am- 4:00 pm, Tuesday, October 12, and Wednesday, October 13 from 10:00 pm to 9:00 pm (Dinner break 5-6pm), Saturday, October 16 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and Sunday, October 17 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the theater in Middletown, according to Warner Crocker, artistic director of Wayside.

One may schedule an appointment by calling (540) 869-1776, Monday through Friday from 10 to 5 p.m.

Audition requirements: Adults: prepare one monologue and 32 bars of any song, accompanist is provided. Sides from A Christmas Carol and Groucho will be available. Audition appointments are five minutes. Actors may present as much material as they wish within that time period. Actor/Musician for Southern Crossroads: The New Orleans Adventure is needed. If any actor is also a musician, they shall be required to play instruments. Keyboards and Percussion will be available at the audition. Participants are to bring a resume and a picture.

Children interested in auditioning for "A Christmas Carol" should come with a prepared 30-60 second monologue or read a poem and sing their favorite Christmas carol a cappella. The production runs from November 27-December 24, 2010. First rehearsal is November 9th.
