Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Because we know all our readers eat, sleep and breathe Broadway, what could be better than waking up to it? Today's big news: AND I AND SILENCE opens off-Broadway, and the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards are set for tonight!
Next up in our series of Broadway stars introducing BWW's morning feature is Leslie Kritzer (portrait by Walter McBride), currently starring in off-Broadway's Piece of My Heart, has appeared on the Great White Way in Hairspray, Legally Blonde, A Catered Affair, Sondheim on Sondheim and Elf. And finally, a Happy Birthday shout-out to Tom Skerritt, who turns 82 today!
Skerritt made his Broadway debut last year in A Time to Kill. He will next be seen on the big screen in A Hologram for the King and recently appeared in The Good Wife. Skerritt is best known for his roles in MASH, Alien, Top Gun, A River Runs Through It, Up in Smoke and the TV series Picket Fences. He also starred opposite Sally Field in the film Steel Magnolias.
