-- Elton John (via BrainyQuote)

Music icon Sir Elton John has composed for Broadway's Billy Elliot, Lestat, Aida (which won him a Tony in 2000) and The Lion King, as well as writing additional music for Holler If Ya Hear Me. He also produced Next Fall. Elton John has sold more than 300 million records and has won six Grammy Awards, an Oscar, and a Golden Globe. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and has since been added to the Songwriter's Hall of Fame and is a fellow of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors. Among his film credits as an actor are Tommy, Spice World, The Road to El Dorado and The Million Dollar Piano. He and his longtime partner David Furnish finally wed in December last year.
