And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Douglas Hodge, who turns 56 today!
Hodge last appeared on Broadway in OLD TIMES (which he also directed), and before that in CYRANO DE BERGERAC and LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, for which he won a Tony Award in 2010 after taking the 2009 Olivier for his performance across the pond. The actor originated the role of 'Willy Wonka' in CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY in the West End, and has also taken the London stage in INADMISSIBLE EVIDENCE, GUYS AND DOLLS and BASHVILLE. Among Hodge's other credits as a director are TORCH SONG TRILOGY at Menier Chocolate Factory and SEE HOW THEY RUN on tour and in the West End. He has also appeared many Harold Pinter plays in the UK, including NO MAN'S LAND, MOONLIGHT, A KIND OF ALASKA, THE LOVER, THE COLLECTION, BETRAYAL and THE CARETAKER. Among his recent TV credits are THE GOOD WIFE, THE NIGHT MANAGER, and PENNY DREADFUL.
