A television interview featuring members of Raleigh Little Theatre's HAIRSPRAY creative team has surfaced online, capturing a conversation with WRAL's Ken Smith about the upcoming production. The segment brings together director Lisa Jolley, music director Micaela Bundy, and Alysse Miller, who plays Tracy Turnblad, as they discuss the show ahead of its run.
HAIRSPRAY follows Tracy Turnblad, a Baltimore teenager in the 1960s determined to dance her way onto a local television show while pushing for integration on its stage. The musical has become a staple for regional and community theatres nationwide, known for its blend of period pop songs and social commentary wrapped in comedy.
The production marks part of Raleigh Little Theatre's 90th anniversary season. Jolley, who takes on directing duties for this staging, previously appeared in a principal Broadway role in HAIRSPRAY, according to the theatre's earlier season announcement.
