Pleasure Dome Theatre will present Charles Dickens' supernatural thriller- The Signalman, adapted by Jonathan Holloway and directed by Scott Le Crass. Get a first look at the trailer here!
The production explores themes of mental health and rural isolation and plays at the Valley before steaming across Somerset and Devon, visiting a selection of Heritage Railways, Arts Venues, Museums and of course, the iconic Landmark Theatre.
Gerald Dickens, great-great-grandson to the author Charles Dickens, known for his world tours of one-person performances of Dickens' great works, leads the cast as The Signalman, and Ben Fensome returns to the company after touring nationally as Mr Collins/Mr Wickam in Pride and Prejudice. Joining the ensemble are Charlotte Ellen as Mrs Carter, whose credits include Phyllis in The Railway Children and Princess Fenella in The Princess and The Frog, with Nayomie James, who makes her fourth appearance with the company but has more recently been working with Paines Plough on their Open Writers programme. Young artists Freya Warren Brand, currently training in London, and Molly Gooch Seasons complete the line-up along with Helena Payne, Pleasure Dome's Artistic Director and Producer, who returns to theatre after South West tours as Carmen in Carmen and Cesare in CESARE.
The Signalman runs at the Valley of Rocks from the 17th to the 25th of July, "Exmoor's answer to the Minack," before touring a choice selection of rail-associated site-specific venues.
