Valerie Smaldone Joins WOR Lineup, Begins Show 4/22

WOR today announced that Valerie's New York, a live one-hour daily show hosted by legendary New York City radio personality Valerie Smaldone, will be heard exclusively on WOR710.com weekdays from 11am-12pm beginning April 22.

Valerie's New York is about living in the craziest, non-stop, always entertaining, often frustrating, and no-place-like-it city in the world. Bronx born and educated, Valerie Smaldone has the pulse on the hidden gems of Manhattan, the boroughs and the suburbs. She is always out and about in New York at night, and when she is, she'll be taking notes to talk about it on Valerie's New York the next day.

Valerie's New York is the first originally-produced show specifically for WOR's internet stream. Listeners will hear from local and national celebrities, have the ability to talk with stars from theater and the food world, publishing, fashion and much more, and hear from just plain interesting people who are part of the incredibly colorful patchwork quilt that makes up the "real deal" of New York.

"After leaving what was an unbelievable run at a heritage music radio station, my goal was to take some time, reassess and do something completely different. I have always wanted to work at WOR in some way. And since I teach a course on how to be an internet radio personality at the School of Visual Arts, my main interest was in cultivating a unique talk show on an internet radio station. I couldn't be in a better place than WOR710.com to launch my new talk show, and I am thrilled to finally be a part of the WOR team."
