Uptown Express, the Bistro Award-winning and seven-time MAC Award-nominated male vocal pop quartet, delivers "love songs both surprising and sweet, spanning the history of pop music, with their new show, Sh-Boom! From classics by artists like The Beach Boys and Paul McCartney to some of today’s most talented entertainers including Bruno Mars, Michael Bublé and Jason Mraz, Uptown Express has a jam-packed curriculum." The show will also feature a soon-to-be-announced guest star.

Uptown Express presents Sh-Boom! on Wednesday, June 20 at 7 p.m. in the Metropolitan Room (34 West 22ndStreet, between 5th and 6th Avenues). Tickets are $15 with a two-drink minimum. Reservations can be made at metropolitanroom.com or 212-216-0440.

Under the musical direction of James Followell, Uptown Express is a male vocal quartet whose repertoire spans 80 years of pop music from standards and show tunes to gospel and blues. In 2008, the group’s first album, “Walk Like a Man,” was named Best Vocal Group Recording by Cabaret Hotline and earned a MAC Award nomination for Best Recording. Since then, Uptown Express has received numerous additional awards and nominations including a Back Stage Bistro Award for Best Group Performance and seven total MAC Award nominations to date.

Uptown Express features Christopher Caswell, Larry Gabbard, Jaymes Hodges and Brad Parks. The group is backed by The James Followell Trio, featuring Dan Gross on drums, Sean Conly on bass and guitar and Musical Director James Followell at the grand piano.
